Three teams of filmmakers from the school have got to the final stages of the Youth Connect "Youth 4 Decent Work" Film Competition. This competition which is now in its fourth year encourages students to make films around the whole area of Decent Work. The overall winning team wins a trip to New York.

The student's films will now be screened in the Savoy Dublin as part of a gala Awards ceremony on Thursday March 2nd. Two of the Abbeyfeale teams are in the Best Interpretation Category, while all three films are in for the Peoples Choice award.

The theme of this year's competition  was "the challenges workers have faced throughout history, starting in the period around the 1916 rising"

The three teams from Colaiste Ide agus Iosef looked at various aspects of this theme including the role of cleaners, the bar tender and teachers.
