Take Away My Way

Margaret Stackpoole Second Year Home Economics student competed on Monday March 12th in the Junior Final of the All- Ireland Take Away My Way Cookery Competition held in St. Angelas College Sligo and Sponsored by Safe Food. She made it to the final 16 out of 900 entries.

Trócaire Lenten Appeal

Caroline Tierney (Trócaire Education Officer) visited our campus on Monday 5th March to raise awareness about this year's Trócaire appeal for Uganda. This presentation was attended by first and fifth year students who are currently raising sponsorship for this worthy charity organisation. Well done to all students who participated in the  'Give it up for 24 hours' campaign on 8th-9th March . Our donation to Trócaire will be announced in the coming weeks. Keep up the great work!

Transition Year Retreat

Recently Transition Year students attended a retreat afternoon on the school campus facilitated by Mary O'Brien, Kathleen Quirke and Fr. M Liston.

It was an immensely enjoyable way to spend an afternoon together.

The theme of this years retreat was encouragement and how this finds expression in prayer and supporting each other.

Open Night for sixth class students

Open night in Coláiste Íde agus Iosef
We host an open night on Tuesday 6th of March from 7 to 9pm. Sixth class students and their parents are invited to visit the school campus. Here they will able to experience the modern state of the art facilities, meet teachers and hear about the many options available to them at second level. The night will conclude with a short presentation by the principal Mr. Jim Tierney, which will outline the spirit of the school community, the comprehensive subject range offered and the practical procedures of school life at Coláiste Íde agus Iosef. iConnect Card launched in school

Members of our Student Council recently met with David Dunne from Youth Connect. David spoke to the students about running an effective Students Council. He also sopke earlier to LCA and TY classes about their rights in the workplace. At the end of session the Student Council members helped to launch the iConnect card, which is a new second level ID and discount Card.
